Can anyone explain me why do Americans put the word "French
" in front of everything and whatever?...
My french cleaner is... korean, and I'm not sure that laundry is especially a french tradition...
You could surely find french fries in France, but it's not really the most typical dish of french cuisine. For instance, you would find more often french beans in a french restaurant. And I can cook, and I would show you how the French deal with potatoes: with garlic and melted onions, tasty and just grilled enough to be delicious!
With these potatoes, a little salad would be great, with french dressing, of course; but I would keep the french toasts for another occasion (no reference to the possible french origin of these toasts; in France, I was even thinking that they were American...).
And it's not just about food: I have french windows in my house in Paris, but I never thought it would be so patriotic to choose this kind of large windows.
Finally, I must say that my favorite one -and maybe the only one I could be proud of- is the french kiss. I don't know if we invented it, but we sure are experts to practice! ;)
